Pipe Tobacco Cans

I knew these unused Snuff Cans would be useful one day!

In every new can of chewing tobacco that Ron purchases, there is a brand new snuff can in a wrapper. Since he does not use every new can I’ve been collecting them (crafter’s curse).

There’s nothing wrong with the bags that the pipe tobacco comes in. But when I’m out and about, I want something a little more portable. And honestly, I wanted something a little more personalized. (Although I do get a kick out of pinching my pipe tobacco from a can that says “snuff.” 😅)

So… if any of you happens across a plastic snuff can and want to create personalized containers for your pipe tobacco (because I’m sure there are so many out there like that)… I’ll keep it simple:

  • Scuff the can with sandpaper to create a grippier surface for gluing

  • Find or print paper that you want to cover the can with

  • Glue (I used Fabrifix mainly, and then gluestick for the surface images)

    • You’re going to have to make some snips in the paper in order to get it to conform to the can. You’ll figure it out.

  • Mod Podge everything when you’re done

I am - as I’m writing this - fighting through a cold, so I have not been able to try any of these blends. When I do, I’ll be sure to review in my “Field Notes.” At a cursory sniff, though, Bag End smells like a legit ashtray… but the others smell delightful.

To be continued!
